The 30-Day Airgap Challenge

Thirty minutes offline every day, for thirty days. Each morning an email lands with one small skill: tie a bowline, fold a crane, fix a seam, juggle. Read it, put the phone down, do the thing.

By day 30 you will have thirty new skills, most of them for life. Total cost: nothing.

One challenge a day for 30 days, then the weekly newsletter takes over. Free, and you can unsubscribe any time.

How it starts

The first week needs nothing you don't already have at home. The rest stays a surprise.

1

Make a paper aeroplane dart

Five minutes, one sheet of paper, and a dart that flies straight. Start small.

2

Box breathing

Four counts in, four held, four out, four held. The calmest three minutes of your day.

3

Tie a bowline knot

The king of knots, learned on a shoelace at the kitchen table.

4

Fold a fitted sheet

The domestic skill everyone claims is impossible. It is not.

5

Fold an origami crane

A thousand years of practice distilled into twelve folds.

6

Build a memory palace

Park a shopping list in your hallway and collect it an hour later.

… and 24 more, one each morning

The rules

One a day

Each challenge takes 30 minutes or less. Miss a day and the next email simply waits for you; nothing stacks up.

Done badly counts

The crane can be crumpled and the juggling can be dropping. Doing it at all is the whole point.

No phone once you start

The email tells you what you need. Read it, then leave the screen behind for half an hour.
